Path

The Path project documents the movement of hundreds of synthetic neural systems. Each line of the image reveals the history of one system's movement as it navigates through its environment. Each neural system is composed of two synthetic sensors and actuators and different relations between these elements determine how they react to the stimuli in the environment. There are four different types of neural systems and each one reacts to the stimuli in a different way, thus creating complex forms. Each image in the Path series is a frozen moment in time from this continually shifting ecology. Each of the 30 unique prints in the Path series is an archival high resolution 32" x 32" digital print.
